This packet of materials was prepared in 1998 and 1999 to assist teachers in
establishing links between national issues and local examples. A number of
historians from across the state contributed their special knowledge to the
effort. The ADAH made a conscious decision in 2016, during the department’s
web upgrade, to maintain the AlabamaMoments section as it was created and
presented in 1999. The content maintains its relevance in linking Alabama local
history to national events.
